B.A. Defence and Strategic Studies is inducted into our college during the academic year 2022 - 2023. It is proud to say that our college is the only Higher Educational Institution that provides this unique course BA. Defence and Strategic Studies in Erode District for the first time. This course has started with the motto of imparting extensive knowledge to rural young citizens about Strategic and Security Issues in the internal and external factors that affect our National Interest and National Values

Vision

To empower the young Indian citizens to acquire extensive knowledge of Military Systems, National Interest, National Security, International Relations, Geo - Politics, Foreign Policy and Strategic Affairs of India pertinent to national values and ethos. To instil leadership qualities, and moral and ethical values of Military life and to seek employment opportunities in the Armed Forces and also in National and State Level Uniform services.

Mission

This course is crafted to seek employability in Uniform Services, Defence Intelligence Wing, (National and State Forces), Defence Journalism, Empirical Research on Strategic and Security Issues and also in the Academic field.

• The uniqueness of the course is to develop and uphold leadership qualities through National Cadet Corps (NCC), character building, personality development, and enhancing social and moral conduct.

• To provide ample scope and opportunities to make the students prepare for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Combined Defence Service Exams (CDS), Staff Selection Board (SSB), Army Educational Wing, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) and also to other competitive examinations through various civil and defence academy.

• This department imparts several levels of learning ranging from seminars, webinars, workshops, field trips, and external activities for student’s career development.
